Howard Brister, 77, ofMcComb, died March 8, 2010, at Beacham Memorial Hospital in Magnolia surrounded by his family. Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Hartman- Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb and continues 10 a.m. Thursday at Navilla Baptist Church until services at 11.

Dr. David Millican, the Rev. Rick Kennedy, the Rev. Larry Romack and the Rev. Mike Shumock will officiate.

Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery. Rev. Brister was born Sept. 9, 1932, in New Orleans, to Howard Brister Sr. and Jessie Reeves Brister.

He was called to the ministry at age 15 and preached the gospel until his death. He graduated from Mississippi College and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored Fellowship, Hebron, Navilla, Centreville and Utica Baptist churches. After leaving Utica, he returned to McComb and was pastor at Navilla, where he remained for 29 years. After his retirement, he continued to preach as interim pastor at a number of churches as well as supply preaching.

He enjoyed traveling, and in his younger years he enjoyed fishing. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Rev. Brister was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marilyn Brister; a brother-in-law, Melvin Brister; father-in-law, Oscar Stovall; and mother-in-law, Hilda Stovall. He is survived by his wife of56 years, Betty Stovall Brister; a daughter and son- in-law, Cindy and Larry Bracey ofHattiesburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr.

Glenn and Janeth Brister ofCalico Rock, three grandsons, Josh Bracey and wife Elizabeth, Jacob Bracey and wife Elizabeth, all ofHattiesburg, and Jonathan Brister of Calico Rock; two granddaughters, Kristen Slaughter and husband Ryan of Bessemer, and Shannon Brister ofCalico Rock; a great-granddaughter, Madelyn ofHattiesburg; four nieces, Lauren Brister ofMcComb, Carol Brister of Savannah, Robin Herrington and husband Mike ofVicksburg and Rebecca Chase ofHattiesburg; a nephew, Robby Scott and wife Elizabeth ofMcComb; a sister-in-law, Janette Scott ofMcComb; numerous great-nieces and -nephews, other relatives and friends, and the caring and loving staffofHospice Compas- sus. Ruth Enrico Ruth C. Enrico, 95, of McComb, died March 8, 2010, at Camellia Estates.

Graveside services are 9 a.m. Thursday in Hollywood Cemetery, with Father Brian Kaskie officiating. Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Enrico was born Nov.

13, 1914, to Louis and Clara Davis Carboneau. She was a member ofSt. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Mrs. Enrico was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aldo Enrico; a son, Richard West; and a sister.

Survivors include her daughter, Lois West; a sister, Inez Everest; and a niece Lilian Foster. Howell Christine Baggett Howell, 86, ofMcComb, and formerly ofLiberty, died March 8, 2010, at Beacham Memorial Hospital in Magnolia. Visitation is 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb. Graveside services are noon Thursday in Liberty City Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Morris officiating.

Mrs. Howell was born May 28, 1923, in Ashland. She was the daughter ofJoe Paul Baggett Sr. and Nellie Lavada Williams Norton Baggett. She worked many years for Kellwood Company in Liberty and McComb, and in later years she was a self-employed caregiver.

She was a member ofEnon Baptist Church in Enon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nelson M. Howell siblings, twins Clyde and Virginia Baggett, Katherine Baggett Ash, Polly Baggett Ray, Buddy Baggett, Joe Paul Baggett John Baggett and Jake Baggett; and a son, Pete Lindsey. Survivors include two sons, Dan Jones and his partner Carolyn Reynolds ofMc- Comb and Nelson Howell III ofCrystal Springs; four daughters, Kathy Matthews ofMcComb, Rae Austin and husband Jack ofBrandon, Melba Smith ofOlive Branch and Pat Howell Domin of McComb; two brothers, Billy Baggett ofLiberty and Bob Baggett ofBaker, a sister, Martha Baggett Owens ofVi- dalia, 11 grandchildren, Amy Domin and Brantley Domin ofMcComb, Nelson Howell and Cody Howell of Crystal Springs, Sabrea Smith and husband Dr. Michael Smith ofColumbus, Leslie Lee and husband Jarod ofStarkville, Wesley Jones and wife Ursala ofNew Roads, Wally Jones of McComb, Tina Elliot and husband Charles ofRidge- land, Melissa Miller and husband Scotty ofBrandon and Jackie Austin ofJackson; and nine great-grandchildren.

Rosie Lee Johnson Rosie Lee Johnson, 75, of McComb, died March 5, 2010, at McComb Extended Care. Visitation is noon Saturday at Sam Quinn Institutional Church ofGod in Christ, Highway 98 East, McComb, until services there at 1 p.m. Elder JimmieWinn will officiate, and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Summit, under the direction Funeral Home ofSummit. Mrs. Johnson was born April 5, 1934, in Amite County, to James and Azalea Claiborn Taplin.

Survivors include four daughters, Charolette Riley and Mary Ann Johnson, both ofMcComb, Maranda Denise Brown ofVictorville, and Renee Coleman of Martinez, five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ruby and Hendrick Spencer, Helen and James Johns, and Mildred Seals, all ofMc- Comb, Nancy Evonne Taplin ofSummit and Nadean Taplin ofNew Orleans; two brothers, Harry Taplin of McComb and Ezekial Taplin ofNew Orleans; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. McKinley C. Jefferson McKinley C. Jefferson, 92, ofJayess, died March 9, 2010, at his home after a lengthy illness. Arrangements are incomplete at Craft Funeral Home ofMcComb.

Charlene Richardson Charlene Alice Richardson, 82, ofMcComb, died March 3, 2010, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Craft Funeral Home, 210 MLKDrive, McComb. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at East Fernwood Baptist Church in Fernwood, with pastor JimmyWilson officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Richardson was born Dec. 5, 1927, inPike County, to Guy and Emma Dillon. She married James Richardson, and was a God- fearing woman with a compassionate heart, gentle hands and an encouraging tongue.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Jacqueline four brothers, Garfield, Leon and Willie J. Dillon and Johnny Bates; a sister, Rosie B. Williams; a granddaughter, Jacquetta MaShae Alford; and twin grandsons. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Willie Harried of Fayette, Emily and Willie Thompson and Connie and Charles Nunnery ofMc- Comb; two sons and Edward and Beverly Richardson, and Dennis Etroy and Lucy Tobias, all ofMcComb; two grandsons to whom she devoted her life and reared, Donald Jr. and Andrez Renardo both ofMcComb; three sisters, Julia Jefferson, Annie B.

Martin and Ruth H. Brumfield, all ofMcComb; a brother and sister-in-law, Nathaniel and Nita Jean Dillon ofOxnard, 11 grandchildren, Denise Shaunta Tobias, Mechia Woodall and husband Derick, Kadesha Latrell Harried, Fredrick DeVon Tobias Derrick Levon Tobias, Tambrye Tiesha Nicole West, Jemecio Raphael Alford, Charles Varnandez Nunnery and Briunna Tomeka Richardson; seven great- grandchildren, Draylon McDonald, Frederick De-Von Tobias Mia Williams, Madison Woodall and Ne- Keyiah West; a goddaughter, Twanda Newson-Fields; and a host ofnieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, coworkers, church family and friends. Pallbearers will be Calvin Brumfield, PatrickJefferson, Kenneth Jefferson, Joe Dillon, Wayne Lee and Mathis Williams. Robert J. Stewart Robert James Stewart, 51, ofCentreville, died March 5, 2010, at his home.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Damascus Baptist Church in Gloster. Services are 1 p.m.Friday at the church, with the Rev. David Veals officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, under the direction ofAndersonFuneral Home ofGloster.

Mr. Stewart was born March 5, 1959, in Mississippi, to Jimmy and Margaret Stewart. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include a daughter, Shelesa Smith of two Smith ofBay City, Texas, and Robert Singleton of Centreville; six brothers, McArthur Franklin ofJack- Franklin of Brunel, Jimmie Franklin ofBaton Rouge and Jerry Franklin, Hermon Franklin and Earnest Franklin, all ofCentreville; six sisters, Patricia Coleman ofJackson, Remell Stewart ofMcComb, Aline Groves ofChicago, Catherline Franklin ofWoodville and Vicie Rodgers and Aldean Jackson, both of Centreville; four grandchildren, three aunts and a host ofnieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. James Q.Cowart James Quentin Cowart, 87, died March 9, 2010, in Natchez.

Visitation is 11 a.m. Friday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb until services there at 1 p.m., with Dr. David Millican officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Mr.

Cowart was born Feb. 12, 1923, in Franklin County, to Walter F. and Eudora McCall Cowart. He worked 20 years for GulfOil as a fireman in Groves, Texas. Upon returning to Mississippi, he was a cattleman and timber man.

Mr. Cowart also spent many hours ofvolunteer service to Parklane Academy. He was a U.S. Army veteran ofWorld War II, serving in the European Theatre, and was a recipient ofthe Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Mr.

Cowart was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nell Rose Lofton Cowart; two daughters, Glenda Kaye and Paula Sue Cowart; two brothers, Julius and Fulton Cowart; and five sisters, Nellie Cowart Allred, Versie Cowart Allred, Lillie Cowart Wilkinson, Lucille Cowart Laird and Claudell Cowart Warren. Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Beth and Dana Carole Cowart, both of Madison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
