Widely Mourned; Rites Saturday Funeral service for John B. Rea retired Illinois Centrail Railroad employee will be conducted from Catchings Funeral Home Saturday at 3 p. m. with Rev. Robert Craig officiating.

Mr. Rea passed away at the McComb Infirmary Thursday at 11:40 p. m. following an attack of pneumonia. He was born Nov.

9, 1884, at Hazelhurst. In 1902 he began his service with the I. C. Railroad as a laborer, and worked on every division of the main line of the road. After retirement on February 1, 1956, after 54 years of service as extra gang foreman, he and his wife returned to McComb to reside where they had maintained their home for many years.

They had lived in Kenner, the last ten years of his affiliation with the railroad. He received his 50 year pass upon retirement. Mr. Rea was a member of J. J.

White Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star and Brotherhood of Maintenance of Ways Employees. Survivors include his wife, the former Maggie Hughes of Brookhaven; one son, John B. Rea, Marietta, one daughter, Mrs. E. Y.

Taylor of McComb; PROMOTED-Don (Hook) Stone who began work in the McComb store of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company three months ago, today was notified that he only, had been promoted to the assistant managership of one of the company's larger stores, at Mobile, Ala. Mr. Stone, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.
